A Commitment to Safety

Gunning Mechanical is committed to safety, training and education for every member of our team.
We ensure that all of our team members have the proper certifications before completing your job.

Safety Practices

All field personnel must successfully complete four to five years of apprenticeship training  before moving through other levels of certification.  Field and management personnel participate in in-house continuing education and training programs, including rigorous safety training, as well as SMACNA and MCA training seminars and conferences.  Our Safety Director conducts regular jobsite inspections and is a resource to our field foremen for safety issues, such as job safety analysis or crane and helicopter lifts.  Gunning Mechanical adapts to stringent client safety requirements by bridging the client's safety program to our own, including ICRA, drug testing, background checks, and TWIC cards.

OSHA Certification & Training

Management, project managers and field personnel are required to have 30-hour OSHA certification before working on any Gunning Mechanical project.  In addition, our OSHA-certified Safety Director provides ongoing training to our team members on topics specific to the project-at-hand, such as Confined Space or Lockout/Tag Out.

Welding & Brazing Certification & Training

Gunning Mechanical provides trained personnel for soldering and welding processes in the mechanical industry, including NFPA 99 medical gas. All team members that perform these services are tested and certified according to project requirements.

Safety Recognition

Gunning Mechanical continually emphasizes the importance of safety and is committed to operating in full compliance with all safety codes and regulations.  Gunning Mechanical's Safety Director strictly enforces safety policies and procedures with all personnel, including all team members in management positions.  Gunning Mechanical is proud to have received the following safety recognitions:
